Skillet Garlicky Green Beans

My choice for quick-flash frying, sautéing, and baking is the iron skillet.  This old-fashioned cookware is a must in the modern kitchen for so many reasons.  Cast-iron skillets conduct heat, beautifully.  They can be used under high heat in the oven.  They last for decades if taken care of properly.  See How to Care For Cast-Iron.

As well, there are many other benefits, including health benefits, to using cast-iron over toxic non-stick pots and pans.  See Ten Reasons Why Cast Iron is a Must Have in the Kitchen.

Eat This With That

This side dish is very versatile in that it goes with almost any dish.  I like to serve it as a quick side dish with Easy Roasted Whole Baked Chicken with Vegetables or Herb Roasted Whole Chicken.  Another great chicken dish, that pairs well with this side dish, is the Mediterranean inspired main course; Greek Chicken Thighs & Legs with Artichokes & Olives.

If you’re not in the mood for chicken, try one of these other great dishes: Skillet-Seared Rosemary Lamb Chops, Home-Style Meatloaf, Dijon Garlic Salmon.
