Skillet Garlicky Green Beans

My choice for quick-flash frying, sautéing, and baking is the iron skillet.  This old-fashioned cookware is a must in the modern kitchen for so many reasons.  Cast-iron skillets conduct heat, beautifully.  They can be used under high heat in the oven.  They last for decades if taken care of properly.  See How to Care For Cast-Iron.

As well, there are many other benefits, including health benefits, to using cast-iron over toxic non-stick pots and pans.  See Ten Reasons Why Cast Iron is a Must Have in the Kitchen.

Eat This With That

This side dish is very versatile in that it goes with most any dish.  I like to serve it as a quick side dish with Easy Roasted Whole Baked Chicken with Vegetables.  Another great chicken dish, that pairs well with this side dish, is the Mediterranean inspired main course; Greek Chicken Thighs & Legs with Artichokes & Olives.

If you’re not in the mood for chicken, try one of these other great dishes: Skillet-Seared Rosemary Lamb Chops, Home-Style Meatloaf, Dijon Garlic Salmon.
